Cornelius Hirsch was born in Munich in 1954.
He initially studied music and has since performed with numerous orchestras at home and abroad.
From 1980-1989 he was a permanent timpanist at the Kiel Opera.
1983-89 studied art history, musicology and philosophy (MA) in Kiel.
In 1990 he received the Bavarian State Prize for Composition.
Hirsch's musical works, performed by well-known soloists and orchestras and recorded on numerous sound carriers, are flanked by works in the fields of visual arts, stage literature, experimental textual art and art philosophy.
After many years as an orchestral musician, leader of various ensembles and director in Munich, Hirsch now lives as a freelance art theorist, composer and timpanist in the Bavarian Forest.
